Colonel Garcha

child rights,child rights organization,children rightsColonel Garcha born in December 1945, was commissioned in the Indian Army from 1966 to 1977. He served in the 61st cavalry, the only active mounted cavalry in the world. He commanded the cavalry in 1994 until his retirement in 1997. He represented India in polo from 1973 till 1995 and captioned the Indian team in the 1995 world cup. He owns the Jaipur riding and polo club. He is also the president of the Arena Polo Association of India. Playing polo, he has travelled in approximately thirty countries. His travels have always brought him new experiences, many with the poor and the downtrodden, which made him yearn to work towards their betterment. He had always wanted to give his time to this worthy cause once he had retired. He sees himself as being more than a cause activist, achieving this by being part of the Aashita Foundation family.

Inderjit Garcha

Inderjit Garcha,  born in 1947 has done her Honours in Home Science from Chandigarh. A major part of her life she was accompanying her mother, an Army wife, during her working towards the welfare of the soldiers and their families through the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA). Also later on she committed herself to similar projects and shared the same vision as her husband to support underprivileged children.  When the Aashita project was realised, she became an active trustee of the Indian foundation.

Harinder Garcha

Harinder Garcha started his career at Fisher Investments in the San Francisco Bay area. He spent 3.5 years at Fisher over which time he was responsible for raising over $ 30 million of UHNW client assets. He finished his career at Fisher as one of five traders executing orders across various asset classes. At the peak, Fisher Investments had an AUM of over $50 Billion encompassing both Private Client, and Institutional assets. Most recently Harinder spent 3 years as a Private Wealth Advisor at Morgan Stanley in India. In this role, Harinder managed several million dollars of assets for over 30 of India’s wealthiest families across asset classes. Harinder studied at the prestigious Lawrence School Sanawar and has a BA in Economics from Carleton College in the United States. He serves as a trustee on the board of Aashita Foundation, which is committed to providing a wholesome and nurturing environment to the girl orphan. Harinder is also a budding polo player.
